Hey everyone, it’s Brad, welcome to my recipe page. Today, we’re going to make a special dish, homemade baklava. It is one of my favorites. This time, I will make it a bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Homemade Baklava is one of the most popular of current trending foods on earth. It is simple, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions daily. They are nice and they look wonderful. Homemade Baklava is something which I have loved my whole life.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook homemade baklava using 10 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Homemade Baklava:
  1. Make ready 250 g strudel dough or 16 layers phyllo pastry
  2. Make ready 125 g unsalted butter, melted
  3. Prepare 1/2 cup pecans
  4. Take 1/2 cup macadamia
  5. Take 2 teaspoons cinnamon, ground
  6. Prepare Syrup
  7. Make ready 1 cup sugar
  8. Get 3/4 cups water
  9. Prepare 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  10. Get 1/2 honey
Instructions to make Homemade Baklava:
  1. In a pot add the syrup ingredients which is sugar, water, lemon juice and honey. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Turn off heat and let cool down.
  2. Chop nuts (pecans and macadamia) finely and mix with ground cinnamon
    Homemade Baklava1. Preheat oven to 160°C. In a oven proof dish spread a layer of unsalted butter, lay a sheet of strudel or phylly pastry, spread butter again. Do this for 5 layers. Add a layer of nut mixture (third of the nut mixture)
  3. Add 3 layers of strudel or phyllo pastry with butter between each layer. Add another layer of nut mixture. Repeat one more time.
  4. Last layer should be like first layer with 5 strudel or phyllo pastry sheets. Butter between each layer.
  5. Cut into squares right to the bottom of the dish.
  6. Bake in 160°C oven for 1 hour 15 minutes or until top layer is golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven, let cool slightly. Pour syrup over baklava.
  8. Enjoy with a cup of tea!
